http://www.fliptitle.com

Thought I would share this site. It takes your text and flips it upside down. Fun and easy to use. Not sure how we can use this in school other than it is would be a big motivator to practice key boarding or spelling words something like that. Might make a cool way to title a presentation. Your imagination is the only limit.

I have used skype with friends who live in other countries and with my grandchildren while they were on vacation at disneyland. What a great free resource for staying in touch with those far away. However, there was an opportunity to use skype in our own educational environment. The other day, there was a meeting called with little notice. I was not able to attend the meeting in person, but suggested that I attend through skype. The meeting lasted 2 hours and I was able to participate and see not only the chairperson of the meeting, but all the attendees as well. Except for a few times, when skype was "shaky", and when other speakers were not close to the microphone, it was pretty successful. The point is, skype isn't just for skype pals across distance, or contacting an "expert" in a field who is far away, it can be face to face, voice to voice right from one class to another or across our district. So 3rd graders at one elementary can share with other third graders just down the road in real time and see each other too! Great tool.

richardson's chapter

I have started several times to read and complete Will Richardson's chapter we were given to read about blogs, wikis, podcasts and other pwerful web tools for classrooms. I am so glad I am getting the time to start over and read it completely. I am very excited about all the possibilities that blogging conjures up. His reference to 4th graders blogging says WE ARE BEHIND others using this technology in our classrooms. I agree that blogging and other writing that we do using technology is yet another writing genre. Anyway, am glad I have a blog and trying to post my thoughts there.

I found my blog on the internet! I found dan's blog and our digital arts teacher's blog. Both these blogs are awesome. I am now following Dan's blog to see how his world wide projects will evolve and I love seeing the digital art lessons. Way to go guys! Go Warriors

flip video

Well I finally did it...got my first and only flip video movie up onto my blog. The special education teachers are really using this tool for progress monitoring and creating step by step lessons for parents and teacher aides to be able to follow. For the cost (flip video ultra) around $129. it is easy to use and actually fun.
